How to Configure Microsoft
Outlook Express
~ for Access to your OmegaNeT
Hosted email account ~
Most clients will be given the following email information:

Follow the instructions below to configure Microsoft
Outlook
Express,
Outlook
2002 & for optional but
Recommended
Outlook settings.
Outlook Express Setup
Indtructions:

- Open Outlook Express (if a Wizard appears, cancel out of
its dialogue).
- Click on the "Tools" menu, and Select "Accounts..."
- The Internet Accounts dialogue appears, select the Mail tab:

- Select the Add, Mail... button or view the account
Properties, starting in the General tab:

- Enter your name and primary email
address as assigned to you (as above).
Note: a reply address is not
required.
- In the Properties window, select the
Servers tab:

- Set the incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP servers with the settings
assigned to you.
- Enter your account name & password which is your UserID usually
in the form of:
Firstname.Lastname@company.com
- OmegaNeT servers require
authentication
in order to send your email, under Outgoing Mail Server select the
check box "My
server requires authentication" & Settings…
button:

- In the Properties window, select the Connection tab:

- either leave this blank if you have a dedicated internet connection
(or if you manually dial first), or select the appropriate account to dial
up to your internet service provider. See you ISP for further
dial-up support…
- In the Properties window, select the Advanced tab :

- leave a copy on the server, and remove from server after 7 days
(only for shared accounts or backup
reasons).
- Select OK & Close to complete your account setup.
Note:
The first time you Send or Receive a message, you may be asked to confirm
your connection credentials:


Outlook
2002 Quick Setup
Instructions:
- Open Outlook 2002.
- Click TOOLS, E-mail Accounts.
- Select Add a new e-mail account, then NEXT.
- Click POP3, then NEXT.
- Enter your name and primary email address as assigned to you (as
above).
- Set the incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP servers with the settings
assigned to you.
- Enter your account name & password which is your UserID usually
in the form of:
Firstname.Lastname@company.com
- Click MORE SETTINGS.
- Click the OUTGOING SERVER tab.
- Select My outgoing server requires
authentication.
- REMEMBER PASSWORD should already be selected.
- Move the SERVER TIMEOUTS slider to 5 MINUTES.
- Click OK, NEXT, then FINISH.
Optional but
Recommended Outlook settings:
- In Outlook Express, click on the "Tools" menu, and Select
"Options..."
